Sounds simple, but unfortunately this has never worked for me. Go for it, no negativity here. Some people do good I hear, I'm just not one of them.

I did this for a while as side income, it was decent business but I couldn't handle some customers. I sold the site and after transfer they open PayPal dispute. I couldn't see how to scale this so I just focused on main business.

When you register a new domain you have to wait 60 days before being able to transfer it.
Anyway still a nice method but not passive, and incomes are not gigantic

I have been planning on doing this for a while now. I have a few thoughts:

1) There must already be a lot of competition of people doing the same thing on Flippa, isn't that right?

2) What's the success rate I can expect from this? Flippa charges $25 for a 3 month listing. What if the site doesn't get sold in 3 months due to massively high competition on Flippa?

3) Does this business actually provide value to the customer? I assume most people who buy starter sites are newbies just looking to start a business online and many would not succeed. While as a seller it is not our problem if we are selling them quality sites but something to ponder upon.

4) Any other useful sites like Flippa?

I will give this thing a try and see how it goes. If anyone else is doing this successfully, I'd love to talk.

i do this for autoblogging sites. (normally make about $70 profit per sale) (BIN aroun $120)

ive often thought about doing SEO service sites as i have a few templates and then in the how to make money guide that goes along with it list my fiverr, seoclerks accounts as the service providers to earns after the sale also.

its a very good method and you can easily churn out 5 sites a day (just depends if you have the funds for the flippa listing fee in advance if doing it in bulk - but you can easily do one site and sell then use some of the funds to list 2 sites etc and scale that way)

I sold one last week. also get people asking to not buy the site but have me load a version of it on to their own domain which i also do for a reduced price. had one of those too.

ive been reduced to dabbling at the moment but plan to scale again when i have a chance

Anyone can go to a website like [ hypestat ] and look at the analytics for the website. Anyone who is smart would do their research when buying websites from [flippa] to make sure that the seller is not a con artist and lying about the sites progress. When I go on [flippa] I look for websites that are a few years old and I research their site traffic and projected income.

This seems like a great way to make repeated income. I may have to give this a try once I do a little more research. Thanks for the info OP!

This is a valuable thread. I have not used Flippa in the past and will live to give this a try. One question - where to find good website designers in the budget you mentioned.
You can find it on upwork now a days in the mentioned budget.

I know you can get website packs from eBay and sell them straight away with a domain.

To even increase sales can point a bot to bump views per day.

Still works.

You only ever get 30 to 60 each sale, but when buying 50 websites at 50 don't matter.

Why flipper shit.....

I have seen plenty of people saying they never got paid, not very safe to do business being honest

I remember there paying system very bad..

The method is perfect for short term.but,
Think big. Create a basic website.Attach any income method, may be adsense. Hold it for few months, and than sale it on flippa. It value will be much more. i,e
Annual income * total number of years.

I have earned $5000 for 1 website sold :)

I'm actually gonna give Flippa a shot as I got an ecommerce store I was running on Ecwid that made $13,000+ in less than 3 months. I wanted to sell it at a multiplier of what it's worth. and go into the business of flipping my ecommerce businesses every few months and sell them for a huge grand of money on Flippa. I heard people doing this for an income or a living just building up the sites for a couple of months and selling them soon afterwards on Flippa.

I heard about Empire Flipping but I did not like all of the involvement from the broker and slow process of getting paid and then when you do finally get paid the buyer has a chance to recall their money back from you on the sale within a 30-day period if the site isn't what's advertised. That's a waste of time on the seller's part, I want the sale to be final as soon as the site is first acquired.

PayPal froze my money recently so I have to wait until I can build back up to spending $200 on getting the business sold or I would started this today but once I do try this I'll comeback here on how my sale went.

You wont sell a 3 month old site with 13,000 revenue for a "multiplier".
There are so many scams running on Flippa that you just wont make it.. I even doubt they will pay 20 K for it as this looks even shady to me.
If you are making 7K revenue per month, it doesn't seem logical to instantly sell it for spare change.
Right now there is a site that is making 2K per month for a year - The price is 21 K at this very moment.. but broker is behind it, so if your numbers are legit and GA can back it all up, then i'd suggest you to pay the 15% broker fee on Flippa and get the site sold for what it's worth.. The difference is not that big, you'd pay 10% for your own listing fees anyways.. considering that the broker is verified and trusted, you will most probably make more money paying that extra fee than selling on your own.

Thanks for the advice I do appreciate it, I'm not sure what direction I want to go in just yet. I do want to take my chances on it though, maybe I'll do a broker if I fail to sell it at the price I want to sell it for on my own.

I want to turn flipping into a business for me so I have no desire to keep running the site as long as possible. I'm going to open a new store to do that model with but I want to create stores to get the revenue up for a few months then sell them over and over again. I can use that money to invest into my businesses as well.

$20k at the moment would not be worth it but it is $20k at one-time and especially since my PayPal account got frozen this would put me in a healthier position financially but I would rather make at least $40k or more off of it.
