Hey folks,

I am not a professional domain broker and this thread is not related to brokerage. You can learn that from @meathead1234 's threads.

I just did a Google search for earning with Flippa and didnt see too many informative threads or methods shared yet. So, let me give my insights here after lurking around Flippa since sometime.

For anyone who isn't aware, Flippa is a business buy/sell website.

The method:

1. Website Designing(Starter Sites):

I wouldn't call this "website design/development" exactly. You can get this done from someone for $10-20 or do it yourself if you have time.

Basically, you need to design a "service" oriented website. Be it logo designing, seo services, content writing, digital marketing, social signals or whatever. Take niche ideas or service ideas from Fiverr.

i. Get a brandable Name: The domain should be niche specific or brandable like resultorientedmarketing or supermarketingservices. Choose them from a domain name idea generator website by adding some keywords and adjectives.

Apart from brandable domains, you could also choose some EMD domain with decent searches tagging along an US city. For example: seo services in <city>, digitalmarketing<city>. These may be a bit hard to get and need some research but I am sure you can get other extensions apart from .com.

ii. Purchase domain: Get a domain for cheap from godaddy or namecheap with their promo deals. (Cost: $1-10 or lower).

iii. Design wordpress website: Create a basic wordpress website around it with service pages, about us, contact, blah blah. Just the usual agency website stuff with proper graphics and service packages with pricing packages and options to buy.

iv. Flippa Listing: Now list the site on Flippa. While listing, give proper title (
START YOUR OWN *Blah Blah* Service Website In 24 hours )
and a long description including a strategy of how the buyer can earn $xxxx from the site selling the services.

Highlight a hypothetical shitty calculation of how they can earn after selling X no of packages or services.

Include a shitload of Buy It Now(BIN) bonuses to attract bidders.

Example listings:

https://flippa.com/9666217-rapidlogodesign-com

https://flippa.com/2905511-premiumseobulk-com

You can

List the site in the range of $120-200.

Profit:

Your Cost: Domain + Shared hosting + Website Design + Flippa listing = $10(max) + $5 + $0+ $19 = $25-$35

Sale: Around $130-200.

If you are such a seller, give your contact info to the buyer to purchase those services from you when someone places an order on his website. Else, hook him up with someone from fiverr or seoclerks or even from BHW.

If you have chosen an EMD like suggested above, you could approach local companies who are ranking in those cities and strike a deal too in case the listing goes unsold. I'm sure they would be interested.

You also expand your business if you are a seller as the buyers would be returning back to you in case they get orders.

Design and scale up. I have seen sellers selling more than 50 websites per month. That's a decent income for a web designer if you say.

If you are a wordpress noob, just hire someone to do it for cheap.

2. Selling SaaS Products:

Well, here is another method to earn.

First things first, are you a developer? Yes/No doesnt matter. Still, if you have minimum designing knowledge, I'm sure you can do this too.

Everything remains same as step 1 here too. Basically, design a website but the difference is selling a SaaS business rather than a service website.

Previously, I had created a thread on How to send emails with Amazon SES(https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/method-how-to-send-emails-cheap-with-amazon-ses.959868/). I found a similar website which was sold for $660(https://flippa.com/9651714-inboxz-com).

About the website:

The seller created a website for selling email marketing solutions i.e, users can register and send emails in bulk(according to subscribed plans) just like mailchimp or similar.

Marketing Strategy: This service is priced cheap and will attract more users. Make a comparison with top bulk mailing solutions and show a price difference. Amazon SES is damn cheap.

How it works: When someone registers, the seller creates a white labelled client account on Sendy and sends to the subscriber. Easy!

Cost of designing: Sendy License + domain + hosting + website design = Around $80-100

Website Sold: $660.

This is all just an example. You can design the same types of websites with different domains and resell basically.

More Ideas:

You could check sold websites on Flippa using proper filters but here are some more ideas:

1. Anything on Crypto would sell like hotcakes.

2. Starter affiliate sites ( You could even resell BHW services).

3. Saas websites on sms services, software subscriptions would work too. Our very own BHW member @jamie3000 has a plethora of software at supagrowth which you could resell too. ( P.S: He doesnt know me and I am not affiliated to him but have used his tools. They are good.)

4. Best sellers would be SEO, SMM related services or saas solutions. If you have anything else in mind or you get reseller permissions, give it a shot.

Tips:

1. Show the buyer how they can generate income or the potential of the website.

2. Make sure to provide a lot of incentives on BIN to encourage bidders to go for it.

3. Keep reserve price as such that you get positive ROI.

4. DO NOT jump into the method. Do some research on Flippa and I am sure you will get hold of what I am saying.

5. If you are new to reselling businesses, try this with 1 site and scale up. This is a golden opportunity for service sellers.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried this personally but I am sure this is a working method and if anyone has given it a shot, feel free to comment and share your experience.

If you find the thread useful, Hit thanks. Thanks to you for spending your time reading this thread.

If you didn't find it useful, please ignore and hit back. :p

Feel free to add more to the thread to turn this into a discussion and exchange of ideas. :)

Cheers

This is a valuable thread. I have not used Flippa in the past and will live to give this a try. One question - where to find good website designers in the budget you mentioned.

I think on BHW marketplace also, you can get affiliate sites or PBN setup threads at a variable price of $10-30. I'm sure you can get a cheap deal at a similar range if you get a site done from them.

I saw this being done last week. It's a great idea because you only have to do the hard work once.
Yes, just rinse and repeat, grow your sales.

Once 1 website is setup, just export all settings and import to the new website. Replace the content. :)

I`ve tried years ago with one wp with unique content, 20 posts on average and I sold it for 260.
I told every kind of bull shit eye-catching from page speed to image optimization.
Also, I pump it up with same fake likes and followers on social networks.

After I do it again and I fail, I give up because I don`t like this kind of businesses, I was watching for long-term passive income.

Yep, Web designing skills are not required too if you frankly say.

Great to hear. Probably, you could try once more. Thing is you need to give bonuses rather than selling it. People love free stuff. Moreover, if you have +ve ROI, you can just reinvest as you are not gonna have a loss anyway.

I like a man who knows how to use the word plethora. Respect.
Cheers man. 50+ tools is "plethora" for someone who always stays wary of coding. Moreover, people here enjoyed your free stuff for years. I just highlighted a business opportunity.

Yep, that's right but most good ones don't go without bidding. I grabbed one recently for $16. It was a game reskinning buy/sell website fully functional. So, it can be tricky sometimes if you set the reserve at $1.

Seller can easily reject your 1usd and relist again?
Don't think so if the reserve has been met.

Yeah, just about preferences. People who are selling services can make a good chunk out of it and newbies can opt for a decent income.

Definitely it is good money for tier 2, 3 country living people.

Back home 260 few years ago was medium salary weges.

Another powerfull trick it is to test some ads for weeks/ month. So if you have at least fair conversions with will help a lot.

And also as you said bonuses like : I teach you SEO , I will assist you 1 month , I explain how to grow your social media networks . People like this things.

Hi,
I am completely new to FLIPPA.

When my website is sold, what do i need to give the buyer? Would I need to give them godaddy and hosting login informations?

I already have yearly hosting, would that work or I have to get a new hosting?

Thanks.

Yep, definitely. If someone can scale this, probably they will get a decent income. Just need to add their own twist. Lot of open ideas to grab from Flippa.

Nice trick to add those conversion pushers.

thanks for sharing

You need to initiate a transfer of domain name to their account(registrar) and send them hosting files.

Yes, for working with this method, shared hosting works well.

Unique funny/viral/useful sites were selling good some years ago. Maybe it's time to try flippa again.

Or you can give your site away for free, but make your client buy a hosting package -> +$100 in your pocket

Yes, viral sites with adsense monetization could work well but has its own limitations in promoting.

You could give a site for free but sometimes free stuff don't attract serious buyers. So, could be tricky.

This is the first method I've seen in here that clicked with me instantly (web designer). Thank you so much. I'm going to do research on flippa and how I can optimise before beginning!

Is $130 - $260 the standard pricing?
