Been getting good at designing and setting up sites. Thinking flipping could be the way to go because Amazon conversion rates on the sites are around 0%. How easy is it to sell sites? What's a good price for a nicely designed site that has no traffic?

Very informative for those who aspire to do it fully. This has always been my passion, i there is much room of business in this niche. Thanks for the advice....
Can you give us any insights or only talk about your own success? It's tough for people to learn anything from fluff posts.

I have some questions for you:
1) To sell on Godaddy is a good or bad idea?
2) You buy/sell expired domain or only website with content?

Thanks in advice!

I've been contemplating what my end-goal is with my sites: whether to keep my steady stream of cash rolling in or to start selling my sites.

One question that I have for you, Meathead, or well, anyone else with experience, is do people also sell their PBNs along with the money sites?

Say I have a site making $2,000/mo, but it is primarily ranking due to my PBN. Obviously if I sell the site, I'm not going to want to continue to pay for PBN hosting/registration costs for a site that I no longer own. But also, the buyer is expecting to now own a site that's generating $2,000/mo. Does the buyer also buy the PBN? Do they have their own PBN ready for the site? Does an agreement get made between the two parties that the PBN will be kept in place for X amount of time?

Thanks in advance for any reply.

Flippa is ok because is cheap and if you are a buyer. For sellers it's not so good because many websites are underestimated. I speak from my own experience...because i tried to sell my website there. And for example i was making 1000/month $ with him and the best offer i received was 600 $(LoL).

Ofcourse privately is the way to go. People are far more likely to see value when being shown in what they think it is a 1-on-1 opposed to 100-on-1 (Marketplace style.)
But for some people it is not as useful since selling websites privately depends upon networking. Which some people may not have when they start.

In conclusion, the more private the more you will get for your site but depending on your network of potential buyers you have to consider lowering the price for attraction purposes.

This is a helpful thread - thank you.
I registered with FE International today
Flippa is too loose. My purchases have had mixed success and in the end the successes were dumb luck. Zero vetting process, you are completely alone on your purchase. Flippa escrow is flawed and offers limited guidance to newbies.

Does anyone have experience with Latonas? They seem to specialize on mid 6 figure sales.

Whats your take on using flippa. Seems pretty straight forward platform with lots of buyers.
I found so much fake crap and out right scammers on flippa. Fake traffic, fake paypal reports. Watch out for listings they " " have a mysterious web promoter who brings in their traffic for minimal cost. If there was a freelancer who could help you bring in 1000's of $ in sales for $200. I would have found them already. I bought one successful sight on there out of 5 attempts. He lied too, but not as bad as the 100's I look over and made attempts to communicate with. Overall, I found flippa to be the C.L. of website sales. Too many scams. Some of these sellers, are pumping up their own sales for 3 months and then posting them. All they do is black out half the paypal report. Just understand most of the sellers descriptions are b.s.
Good Luck, hope this was helpful?

Nice post. I have heard some have had luck with Flippa but others stories would scare me away from using them.

"Where is the best place to sell a website" - is probably one of the most regular questions asked at BHW. I have been selling/brokering websites for over 5 years now and my company is well over $20m in sales.

Generally speaking, when selling you have 3 options depending on your net income:

- Sell on a marketplace (<$10k a year)
- Sell with a broker ($10k+ a year)
- Sell privately (all ranges)

Marketplaces

Marketplaces tend to be most suitable if your website makes less than $500/month or is something a broker wouldn't take on.

Best options (costs in brackets):

- Flippa (listing fee + upgrades + success fee)
- BHW marketplace (no success fees so this is a good option for most)

Website Brokers

Brokers are usually the best option if you make more than $10,000 a year. There are lots of "brokers" out there but very few who are reputable. Avoid brokers who work by themselves - they might charge less in commission but don't have the budget to reach as many buyers as the bigger brokers.

Best options based on my experience (costs in brackets). I've only included brokers who complete at least 20 sales per year:

- FE International. Sites $20,000+ in value, specialising under $1m (10-15% commission, no listing fees)
- EmpireFlippers. Most sales are $5k-$100k in value (15% commission, $297 listing fee).
- QuietLightBrokerage. Best for bigger sites, over $1m (10% commission, no listing fee).

Privately

No recommendations here but if you want a strategic buyer and not a deal based on income, try contacting people in your niche privately!

*Note: FE International is my company. I have not direct linked to other companies as not everyone likes "blackhat" links".*
Where we can find private buyers?
Can you give more info it will be great
