ETA: Replying to your own thread

If you're not a Jr VIP, Marketplace Seller or Premium member, then you'll be able to post a new thread but you won't be able to reply to it yourself. Once you've found what you're looking for, please PM a mod to close the thread and mark it as complete.
What's the catch not allowing members reply to their own HAF threads?

Most probably, it will be tough putting the permission in allowing normal members to post in their own thread while blocking reply permission in other threads. Not sure if Xenforo uses acf or rbac. in both cases, it will be tough to set the permission for that.

This is just a reminder that yellow members are not allowed to circumvent the rules highlighted in this thread by selling via PM.

Anyone caught selling via PM will receive an infraction.

Rules for Replying
To reply to a Hire a Freelancer thread you will need to have an active Jr VIP, Premium or Marketplace seller subscription.
Great step to avoid scams. I was lucky to get the job without being a JR.VIP.

Anyone caught selling via PM will receive an infraction.
It is not for JR.VIP members, right?

If it is germane to the request.

Your most recent post was not germane to the request which is why it was deleted.

Also, PMing someone about a thread from June about a request is spammed advertising as it is no longer in play... common sense dictates that.

Pming them would send them an email notification how is that spam? People looking for these services are always looking for new sources. I would imagine PMing in that case is actually better then bumping an old thread.
And could you explain how it is not germane to the thread?
He was looking for live transfer credit leads.
If I can set up a program for that, how is it not germane? Im not even being argumentative, please explain so i can word it better.

The guy has not been on BHW since June.

The request was in June.

Common sense dictates that he is not in play for that anymore.

And people looking for these serevices are always looking for new services is an absolute and makes no sense as you have no clue what he is looking for 4 months after the fact.

Im sorry thats not common sense and if so on here ok ill certainly abide but i shouldnt be infracted for that for a first time. I bought the premium so i could.
I am in a business and still looking for leads or sales 4 months from any point ive been in it. If you are in sales you are always loking for leads.
If you are a credit repair agency as he clearly is, he is always looking for leads, no?
Again I can certainly abide by that rule now but there is no specific rule saying you cant respond to that thread after a certain time frame. Now that I knwo it thats ok of course

You were not infracted; I just deleted things related to that 4 month old response to a request.

Please use common sense and do a little due diligence so you know that a thread is old and that the requestor has not been here for months.

The guy has not been on here since JUNE when he made the post!

You think your response is common sense?

Due diligence is part of what one does as a sales person and if your prospect has not been her for 4 months it makes no sense to spend any time or energy soliciting them.

Well yes i personally do! I wont do it again here though!
As a sales person i think like this:
He made a thread and hasnt been here since June. That most likely means has has received no response from here worth his while and so left. It is highly unlikey he left bc his business closed.

Although he does not post or come here, he will receive an email notification of the PM or reply. Therefore he will see my offer. And he is likely still in business since he had stated he has a call center with employees, meaning he is a not a start up or one man shop.
So by sending a PM or reply I get a direct message to his inbox with my offer relating to his needs. If he is still in business he surely still has those same needs in his niche. No one runs out of leads.

Thats my thought process, as said wont happen again.

Also i did PM you back about if i can give my skype to a jr vip whom has messaged me asking for it thank you

No, that is spammed advertising and I did not infract you for it but just deleted the post and sent you an alert.

Sure you can give your skype to someone who asks for it. We don't encourage people to do business via Skype as that takes away protection for the buyer and seller as BHW won't mediate issues off site but we certainly don't have a rule in place that prohibits it.
